A Formcarry alternative with a delivery timeline on every message.

Formcarry is a form backend with uploads, team members, your own email server and white-label options. Heartdove is built around saving each message first and showing whether its alert arrived. Here is a dated comparison taken from each service’s own pages, including where Formcarry offers more.

Updated 20 October 2026

The short version

Formcarry fits if:

  • You need file uploads, team members on the entry plan, or unlimited forms.
  • You want alerts sent through your own email server, or white-label emails.
  • You want 30,000 submissions a month on one plan.

Heartdove fits if:

  • You want 500 free submissions a month across up to 10 forms.
  • You want a delivery timeline on each message without running your own mail server.
  • You want origin checks, scoring and quarantine on the free plan, with Turnstile optional.

Formcarry figures come from formcarry.com/pricing, Formcarry: what every form needs and Formcarry: how it works as read on 20 October 2026. Where a cell says a page does not describe something, that means it is not documented there, not that Formcarry lacks it. Heartdove figures come from the pricing page. Prices change; check both before deciding.

At the monthly limit

Formcarry’s documentation says it holds extra submissions aside until the first day of the next month while the visitor still sees the thank-you page, up to 1,900 on Free and 10,000 on paid plans, and that beyond that the endpoint refuses submissions until the new month. Upgrading moves held submissions into the form.

Heartdove shows usage in the app with a warning from 80%. Submissions above your allowance are stored and held, visibly, and released oldest first when the allowance resets. There is no overage charge.

Delivery you can see

Every Heartdove submission is saved to your inbox before any email or webhook is attempted. The alert is then tracked on the message: accepted by the email provider, then delivered or bounced with the reason. A bounced address is paused and flagged so you notice, and the message itself stays in the inbox.

Whichever service you choose, it is worth asking how a bounced recipient is handled and whether you would be told.

Moving a form from Formcarry

Your markup stays. Change the form action to the Heartdove endpoint, add the hidden access_key, keep the hidden botcheck trap, and register every website address the form is published on. Formcarry identifies the form in the action URL; Heartdove uses a hidden access_key field. Uploads are not accepted, so remove file inputs or keep that form where it is.

After
<form action="https://submit.heartdove.com/v1/submit" method="POST">
  <input type="hidden" name="access_key" value="YOUR_ACCESS_KEY" />
  <label>Email <input type="email" name="email" required /></label>
  <label>Message <textarea name="message" required></textarea></label>
  <!-- Hidden spam trap: people never see it, bots tick it -->
  <input type="checkbox" name="botcheck" tabindex="-1" autocomplete="off" style="display:none" />
  <button type="submit">Send message</button>
</form>

Submissions already stored with Formcarry stay there; export them before you close that account.
